Snack Review: Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies

Hey guys, time for another (Tasty Time) snack review! This time we have these Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies.

James nor I had ever had any type of cookies from this brand before and though they had many flavors we would like and wanted to try out.

I thought that the s’mores flavor would be a safe place to start!

What Are Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies?

Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies are a slightly fancy feeling snack.

Broken down they are basically a three layer cookie. Those three layers are made up by their cookie bottom, marshmallow middle, and the chocolate coated top.

How Are They?

Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies With Marshmallows

From looking at the box it would seem that the marshmallow would be a tad bit more runny than it actually is,  but this actually ends up being a good thing – it makes the cookie less runny / crumbling, resulting in no mess.

The entire cookie is almost completely coated in the delicious looking truffle chocolate top. The smooth milk chocolate melts in your mouth revealing the oozing marshmallow filled middle if you choose not to chew it.

The creamy sweet marshmallow filling is like a slightly thinner caramel that softens even more in your mouth combining with the chocolate. The cookie part is a graham cracker flavored cookie that crumbles in your mouth allowing it to be coated with the sugary marshmallow filling and sweet truffle milk chocolate. The three layers together form a trifecta of a not-overly-sweet s’mores flavor.

Overall we thought that they weren’t too bad and the taste was nice and is something we can see ourselves eating again.

Summary

For a final analysis, I’ll share each one of our thoughts that we wrote down while trying Leclerc Celebration S’mores Style Truffle Cookies!

Amara’s Thoughts:

The cookies themselves look very nice, and have a pretty design stamped on the top giving them a fancier feel. If you offered these at a party, it would really look like you went the extra mile to buy something premium.

Personally, I was hoping for a little more s’mores flavor. The chocolate on top was thick and kind of overwhelming taste-wise. They would have tasted a lot better to me with more of the marshmallow middle to bring in some extra sweetness for a better balance. Still overall a very nice s’mores cookie and something I will buy and eat again.  That being said, I am definitely ready to try another flavor!

Rating: 5.5/10.

James’ Thoughts

The chocolate on these is pretty overpowering. If you’re going to take a bite out of it and chew the whole cookie, the chocolate needed to be cut down by half in order for it to really taste like a s’more – it’s that dramatic.

The marshmallow also had a very mild taste and could have benefited from more of it, or a thinner chocolate coating. Each individual piece of the cookie tastes great, but it’s completely out of balance if your goal is for it to taste like a s’more.

One of my favorite parts of a smore is tasting the hard (not fully melted) chocolate after the soft marshmallow. Even though the marshmallow section doesn’t have the resistance of biting into a marshmallow, you do kind of get that same feeling due to the cracker underneath.

If you’re after the s’mores flavor,  then the best way to eat these is taking a bite and letting it melt together in your mouth, allowing for some of the chocolate to melt away.

For only 70 calories a cookie, you get quite a lot – it’s large for being mostly chocolate, and a decent sized cookie.

Rating: 7/10.
